Five men charged in Hunterdon County child molestation

High Bridge police investigators and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Special Victims Unit developed information about the crimes during an investigation in March.

Five men are charged with crimes related to the sexual assault of a child younger than 13, authorities said today.

High Bridge police investigators and the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Special Victims Unit developed information about the crimes during an investigation in March. The offenses occurred in High Bridge, authorities said.

As a result of that investigation, the following people have been charged:

• Cesar M. Solis, 23, of Somerville, N.J., was arrested April 7 and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault.
• Nicholus M. Martiz, 19, of the first block of Bridge Street, High Bridge, was arrested April 15 and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault.
• Carlos J. Heras, 18, of East Stroudsburg, was arrested April 15 and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault.
• Joseph A. Constantin, 19, of the first block of Taylor Street, High Bridge, was arrested April 23 and charged with third-degree child endangerment.
• Eric J. Hartman, 21, of the first block of Main Street, High Bridge, was arrested May 19 and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree aggravated assault.
  

Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Chief of Detectives Dan Hurley said the investigation is continuing and more charges and arrests are possible. Hurley said the crimes occurred individually at separate times and authorities don't know how the defendants came to know the victim.
