Two boys aboard the ATV were riding east on the westbound shoulder of Route 173 when the truck turned into their path, police say.
Two boys are in critical condition tonight after they were ejected from an ATV that collided with a dump truck turning onto Person Road from Route 173 this afternoon in Bethlehem Township, N.J., according to New Jersey State Police at Perryville.The juveniles were on the ATV headed east on the westbound shoulder of Route 173. Kevin J. Barry, 50, of Greenwich Township, was driving the dump truck and turned left from Route 173 East toward Person Road into the path of the ATV, police said. The crash occurred about 4 o'clock this afternoon.
The ATV hit the left fuel tank and left door of the truck. Both boys were airlifted to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill, where they were listed in critical condition, police said.
Barry was uninjured.
